Awareness Day (ASDA) February 8th, 2014

Asda Living are committed to supporting local good causes and charities, the branch at the Arnison Centre in Durham approached the band to take part in their ( chosen by you ) programme.

When customers visit the store and make a transaction, they are issued with a green token. This token then enables the customer to vote for a local good cause or charity ( of which there are a choice of three every two months) at the end of this period the votes are counted and the winning good cause receives a donation of £100 and the other two causes receive £25 each.

The groups are also invited into the store for an awareness day to promote there cause and hold a collection.

The band was chosen for the voting period Jan/Feb 2014 and an awareness day was arranged for the 25th January from 10am until 4pm.

We were given space  in the store although limited we were able to show case the band , we were given a table and display board on which we displayed instruments and photographs , as well as promoting our activities including the Junior Band the public especially the children were encouraged to have a blow,

Interest was good and we were able to raise a very welcome £147.66 for the band.
