I have provisionally booked St John’s Methodist Church hall for Thursday May 7th, in case we are not allowed
in the hall while it is being used as a polling station for the general election.
You will probably remember that there is a proposal to establish an open -cast coal site between Pittington and West Rainton.
Planning permission was refused, the Company appealed and there is now to be a public inquiry, lasting 3 weeks, and is likely to be held in the Village Hall.
During the inquiry there will be little or no access to the hall so I have provisionally booked St Johns hall for Thursday 9th, 16th, and 23rd.
Whether we should have a practice on the last two dates is a matter for consideration, as the schools finish for the summer on Friday 17th July.
Any thoughts ?
